We ask that everyone come in their WYB uniform and check-in at your
respective field. At check-in, we will be handing out tickets to each
player that will allow them to get a snack from the snackstand.
During the Hit-A-Thon, each child will get 5 hits or 10 swings,
whichever comes first. They will be scored based on how far the ball
travels. Each division will award trophies to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
finishers AND the team that scores the best for their division will be
rewarded with a prize from the snackstand. So, not only is the event an
individually scored event but it’s also a TEAM competition event.Along with the Hit-A-Thon and FunDay activities, we will have several vendors and sponsors setup around the snackstand and we will have raffle baskets to enter to win.
WYB is pleased to announce our 3rd annual Hit-A-Thon!
The Hit-A-Thon will take place on June 1st, 2019 as part of our FunDay.
This will be a great time to have some fun with your teammates, friends
and meet some of our wonderful sponsors!! Spread the word and invite
friends and family, no matter if they are already involved with WYB or
not.
Who is invited to take part in the Hit-A-Thon?
All WYB players are invited to take part in the Hit-A-Thon, no matter
if they receive a donation or not. This is a league wide event and all
are encouraged to enjoy the event. We are hoping for 100% participation
as this event is for the kids and families.
When will my child be hitting?
The schedule for the Hit-A-Thon is coming soon!
How does the Hit-A-Thon work?
The Hit-A-Thon is very similar to a walk-a-thon. Each player solicits
sponsors who pledge to make a tax-deductible donation to WYB. Each
player gets five hits which will be scored by a point system based on
how far the ball travels. The points for those five hits will be totaled
for the player’s score and ranked for his/her age division.
How do I make a donation?
Online donations can be accepted through WYB’s 99 Pledges website at https://99pledges.com/fund/wyb2019.
Each player will have their own unique link to be shared with potential
donors. You can search for a
player’s name on the 99 Pledges website.
WYB will also accept checks and cash donations. Please mail these donations to:
WYB Hit-A-Thon
2121 Martindale Rd
Warrington, PA 18976
Alternatively, we can make arrangements to have your in-house coach deliver your check or cash donation.
If you are sending in payment in the form of a check or cash, please
make sure you accompany your donation with the player’s FIRST and LAST
name so we can attribute the donation to the correct player.
All pledge money is due on
Friday, May 31st at 9pm to be attributed towards the prizes available. We will
accept donations up through the end of the event on Saturday, June 1st.
What is WYB raising funds for?
The money raised during all WYB fundraisers is put directly back into
our organization. From lights, to field improvements, to new equipment,
the success of our program is dependent on fundraising.
Are there prizes for the kids?
Of course!
Each age division will have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher in the
Hit-A-Thon. For those ages that have travel team(s), those players will
compete against other travel players within their own division.
Prizes will also be given out based on the amount of donations brought in.

What are the best practices to collecting donations?
Step 1: Make a donation yourself. Lead the way by making your donation first. It encourages people you know to support your child and make a donation.
Tip: Add a note of encouragement along with your donation.
Step 2: Email 10 of your closest friends and family
members. Let them know about our Hit-A-Thon. Invite them out to the
event on June 1st to watch your child take their swings. Provide them
with the unique link to your child’s page and ask that they make a
donation to help your child’s organization.
Tip: Remind your friends and family, any amount helps!
Step 3: Post your child’s unique link on social media and advertise the event.
Tip: The 99 Pledges site has social sharing links right on your child’s unique page.
Step 4: Let your co-workers know about the event.
Many companies will be interested in a corporate donation, matching the
amount of money your child raises.
Tip: Approach co-workers whom have children that you have supported in the past with their fundraisers.
