Parents,
As you are probably already aware, the bats that your children
currently have will become illegal in the new year. On January 1st,
2018, Cal Ripken Baseball (WYB plays under the Cal Ripken jurisdiction)
will be adopting the USABat standard.

WHAT IS CHANGING?
USA Baseball, the sport’s national governing body, is adopting a new
performance standard for youth baseball bats. You’ll hear this referred
to as the USABat standard, or simply, USABat.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The USABat standard replaces the existing 1.15 Bat Performance Factor
(BPF) standard. Both establish limits on barrel performance, but the
USABat standard mandates a more wood-like performance than 1.15 BPF.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHICH BAT TO BUY?
All new bats that bear the USABat licensing mark will be permissible for
play in the leagues and tournaments of the participating youth baseball
organizations.
